All three major winter resorts in Bulgaria – Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo-Mechi Chal prepare many games, entertainment, and surprises for their guests on January 21st. The World Snow Day is then celebrated everywhere around the globe. The initiative for the celebration is of the International Ski Federation. Its goal is more young people to fall in love with winter sports and all snow-related activities.
In Borovets, everyone who wants to make their first steps in winter sports will be able to get free ski and snowboard lessons. The youngest will be able to have fun at the Borokids Children’s Park and the big ones will watch demonstrations by representatives of the Mountain Rescue Service and the Bulgarian Association of Skiing Free and Extreme Style.
The organizers of the holiday in Pamporovo also promise many games, entertainment, and surprises. Traditional for the youngest in the resort there is also a sweet cake. The World Snow Day is also celebrated in Bansko. Here are some curious facts about the snow. The myth is that there are not two identical snowflakes, as scientists have proven the opposite. According to evidence, the largest snowfalls ever fell were 40 centimeters in diameter. Even if there are no such in the Bulgarian winter resorts, the fun on January 21st is guaranteed.
