An initiative for mass dancing of the Bulgarian traditional dance horo is provoked by the association “Azbukari” and the unification “Bulgarians for Bulgaria”. They call everyone at 12 o’clock on the national holiday of our country to get hold of their hands and to recall the footsteps of the traditional Bulgarian dances in the big and small settlements around the world and in our country.

In Sofia the event will also start at exactly 12 o’clock in Zaimov Park. The Awakening with Horo Initiative will take place for the third consecutive year. Its purpose is to preserve and pass on to the next generations the Bulgarian spirit and traditions. Last year, over 400 people joined the capital, many of whom were dressed in folk costumes.
