For the eleventh consecutive year in Burgas, you can see masterpieces made of sand. The sculptors in this edition of the festival portray monsters and myths. The participants are from 9 countries. Small and large can look and take pictures of the elusive and almost mythical monster of Loch Ness, the terrible Gorgona Medusa, the Minotaur who fed with humans and for whom the most famous labyrinth was built, the Alien, and other unreal heroes were built.
Among the sculptures that are already attracting the interest of the visitors are also those of Deneris and the dragon of the cult series “The Game of Thrones”, a plot of the book “The Lord of the Rings”, Godzilla and the three-headed lama of Bulgarian folk tales. Artworks are located on an area of 5 acres and hundreds of tonnes of rain-resistant sand are used to make them.
The festival can be visited by the end of September. Children up to 7 years of age can enjoy the sculptures for free. The entrance fee is BGN 3.50 (approximately 1,70 Euro), and for students and pensioners there is a reduction, so the fee for them is 1.50 BGN (approximately 0,75 Euro). For groups of over 10 people, each pays 2,50 BGN (approximately 1,25 Euro).
