The Bulgarian art elite visits Sozopol for Apollonia

This year between 1st of September and 10th of September the art elite of Bulgaria will visit Sozopol. Then in the seaside town is held the Apollonia Festival of Arts. The first such festival was in 1984, and Apollonia Foundation revived the tradition in 1991. During the 10 days of the festival the residents and the visitors of Sozopol can enjoy over 70 cultural events.

If you want to visit all of them you have to buy golden ticket. It costs 360 lev or approximately 180 euro. The ticket for each of the single events cost around 15 lev or approximately 7,5 euro. On the first day of the festival you can enjoy a classical concert featuring Dimitar Burov – violin, Hristo Tanev – cello and Ludmil Angelov – piano. And to attend the opening of the exhibitions.

On 2nd of September you can attend a concert of the piano duo Aglika Genova and Lyuben Dimitrov or to listen to the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band with soloist Milica Gladnishka. At Apolonia square is also the opening of the Book Festival, part of Apollonia. On 3rd of September you can watch the documentary film Vox Populi diected by Neda Sokolovska and the movie Thirst by Svetla Tsotsorkova. You can also attend a piano recital of Vesko Stambolov. At 09:00 p.m. you can hear the concert of Polly Genova, LaTiDa, Polifonia, Stefan Stefanov, Vassil Krumov and Rosen Vatev. From 11:00 p.m. is the time of Antoni Donchev and his colleagues.

By the end of the festival you can see a lot of Bulgarian films and book presentations. And to enjoy the performances of Ivo Papazov, Jeremy, Hilda Kazasyan, ensemble Filip Kutev, Vladi Ampov – Column, Theodosius Spasov Trio, Kamelia Todorova, Zhivko Petrov, Mihail Yosifov, Beloslava and the songs of Tonika SV and Vanya Kostova. There is also a rich program for the fans of classical.
