Horse racing and concerts will mark Todorovden in the village of Bachevo, Razlog. The holiday, also known as Horse Easter, is among the most celebrated in the village, whose flag is not accidentally with a horse included. Local people even joke that long before the babies start to walk, they get on a horse. On Todorovden, many of the local people put their babies in authentic costumes and picked them up on their horses to join the traditional rituals.
On the holiday horses are trimmed with martenitsas. The celebration begins at 10 a.m. in the center of the village with solemn liturgy and watering, and cakes made in the shape of horseshoes and horses are sanctified. Animals are ritually fed with sugar to be good and sweet next year. And the most beautiful local maiden will smear with the red egg the faces of the riders to be strong.
Everyone will be caught together on the dance floor. The actual races with horses will start at 11 a.m. in the Vlasovitsa area. The best in the different races will be awarded at 03.30 p.m. Immediately afterwards in the center of the village of Bachevo the fun will continue with a festive concert.
