On 11 December officially was opened winter season  2010-2011 in Bansko. For the beginning of the season on the “Alberto Tomba” track a charity event “Bansko Ski Legends’ Race” took place. In the competition participated worldwide stars Marc Girardelli, Petar Popangelov, Andreas Vetnsel, Maria Valizer, Jozeph Strobl, Leonard Stock, Luc Alfand, Michael fon Gruningen. The Bulgarian ski legend Petar Popangelov started first. After skiing followed a concert and a torchlight parade with the participation of colourful dancers and traditional Bulgarian Mummers. At the end of the parade Bansko got the prize  “Bansko – winter capital of Balkans”.
