The best airlines for Bulgaria were awarded at a special ceremony of the Sky Awards 2017 at the Marinella Hotel in Sofia. Prizes were received by different carriers in 6 categories, and the choice was made by voting by customers and industry professionals. The biggest prize – the best airline of the year in Bulgaria, grabbed the German Lufthansa.

For the best airline on average routes among 23 others was chosen Bulgaria Air. As a leader among long-haul carriers, Lufthansa has competed with 15 other companies for the award. The award for the best low-cost carrier received WizzAir in battle with 4 other companies. The Sky Offline Award was awarded Emirates.

A favorite airline in Bulgaria according to the consumer’s vote is WizzAir. Turkish Airlines received the Sky Friend award in competition with 23 other airlines. USIT Colors was selected as IATA Sky Agent. The Sky Awards voted 3026 passengers from 129 cities in Bulgaria and 8 countries abroad. An accompanying Skay Forum, organized by APG Bulgaria, with the support of the International Air Transport Association / IATA, was also organized before the event.
