Borovets Resort – host of the European Cup for men’s giant slalom and slalom

Borovets will be hosting a round of the European Cup for men’s giant slalom and slalom. On February 15th and 16th some of the best athletes in the world will compete on the ski slope “Popangelov”. This will be the 11-th European Cup to be held in Borovets. The first hosting of the European Cup took place back in 1977. On February 15th and 16th Borovets will welcome a very special guest – Marc Girardelli. Some of the best teams worldwide will ride on “Popangelov” – athletes from 14 countries: Norway, Switzerland, Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Slovenia, Russia, Japan. This will be an important start for the alpine ski competitors as it will be a dress rehearsal for the Olympic Games in Sochi. The official opening will be on the 14th of February from 6 p.m. on the stage in front of the Rila Hotel. The access to the audience area will be free. A free shuttle line from the parking lot in front of the Gondola lift to the race area – Yastrebetz Ski Center will be available for everyone wishing to watch the races. Booking hotels in Borovets
