Bulgaria is ready to welcome its guests from Russia as a safe tourist destination. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova during her meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bulgaria HE Eleonora Mitrofanova. I believe that the border between our countries will open soon and Russian tourists will visit our country during the current summer tourist season, Nikolova explained.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the Ministry of Tourism is in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and the possibilities of opening the border between the two countries are being studied. I hope that after this happens, flights to Bulgaria for 2021 will again enter the plans of Russian airlines, Nikolova explained.

Under normal conditions, our country annually receives over 450,000 Russian citizens, said the Minister of Tourism. She added that together with the local health authorities all necessary measures are being implemented in Bulgarian resorts and tourist destinations for the safe course of
tourist seasons in the country.

I am very glad to have the opportunity to work in Bulgaria – a nation that is very close to us, said HE Eleonora Mitrofanova. She added that the fact that the summer season in Bulgaria will be open from May 1 will be a great joy for Russian tourists. According to her, it is extremely important for Russian tourists to have accurate and complete information on how the tourist activity in Bulgaria will be carried out and under what measures.
