On July 30, a procession worships the cave of St. Marina

The cave of St Marina near Strandzha has been revered by the local population since antiquity. According to beliefs, the power of the saint heals. Therefore, every year on the day of St. Marina on July 30th a festive procession goes to the saint’s cave. The sanctuary is located 12 km away from the village of Slivarovo.

But almost all the way you can go by jeep only finally have to climb a bit to get to the miracle cave. Those who seek to heal will stay in it or leave their own figures, as well as those of their sick body parts or organs. Healing Seekers also stuck pieces of their clothes on the surrounding trees, hoping and believing that their pain would remain on the trees.

In addition to the sick, Santa Marina is the protector of both the pregnant and the snakes. It is believed that the honor to the saint inStrandzha is a remnant of the cult of the Mother Goddess. Ladies who want to have a child also have to perform a special ritual in the cave. There is a narrow hole in it, erected about a meter from the ground through which women are stabbing to get a child and health.
