Children make pearls of clay and paper

Children’s workshops where that children can create wild peonies using various techniques are part of the first Day of wild peony. The event aims to increase the interest in protecting the protected field of wild peasant peony near Bozhurishte. The event will be held on May 22, the International Day of Biodiversity in the National Community Centre “Hristo Botev 1934 ” in Bozhurishte.

The festival will be opened with the exhibition of children participating in the contest for drawing on wild peony. The beginning is at 10 am. At the same time, from 10 am to 12 o’clock. creative workshops for pre-school children and students from grades 1 to 7 will be held. Any child who wants will be able to join and make his own wild peony from paper or clay and to take it back home.  The young artists will be able to participate in painting on a large canvas.

From 12 am a public lecture will be held, with a discussion on wild peonies and the protected territories in Bulgaria presented by the guest lecturers eng. Toma Belev and Dr. Desislava Alexova from APB and Desislava Gurova – Chief expert flora in the Vitosha NPP. The public can make suggestions about how to protect the threatened by extinction species wild flowers.

At 01.30 pm the winners of the competition will be announced and will be held the awards of the participants, such as the organizers, parks in Bulgaria, National community centre “Hristo Botev 1934” and the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation promise to have surprises for the visitors on the spot.
