Until January 2, 2017 will continue the Christmas bazaar in Buhalov Khan in Karlovo. If you visit it you can buy handmade traditional souvenirs and presents for the upcoming holidays. At the bazaar will be demonstrated traditional crafts such as knitting of Kalofer lace, embroidery, cutlery, wood carving.
The bazaar is taking place in one of the most beautiful buildings in Karlovo. Buhalov Khan is located opposite of the temple “Virgin Mary”. The building is from 19th century. At the inn has gathered the revolutionary committee founded by Vasil Levski. In the building was also founded the first temperance society.
Even if you can’t visit Buhalov Khan during the holidays do not worry. Traditional craftsmen show their skills throughout the year and offer hand-crafted items and souvenirs. You can buy painted silk scarfs, specimens of the famous Kalofer lace, embellished blades, felt and wooden panels, magnets, jewelry and a bunch of other things.
Each room at the inn is furnished with Renaissance household items. It brings the working and festive atmosphere of the era thanks to the ornate rooms, colorful traditional costumes, wooden ceilings and weaving loom for mastering typical Bulgarian rugs. In Buhalov Khan you can also seat to drink a coffee prepared on hot sand. Or to try rose jam, Turkish delight and other desserts made by old recipes from Karlovo. The complex is open from 08.30 a.m. to 05.30 p.m.
