Enthusiasts will downhill dressed in traditional Bulgarian costumes in Pamporovo

On March 3rd in Pamporovo will be held the first ever downhill with traditional Bulgarian costumes. Skiers and snowboarders dressed in traditional clothing will lead the participants in the event. The еach attendee will carry the Bulgarian flag. Thus in the winter resort will mark the national holiday of Bulgaria, commemorating the liberation of the country from Ottoman rule.

Everyone who is interested can join the initiative by the mandatory requirement to carry the Bulgarian flag. Enthusiasts can also do dress in the traditional costumes. The lifts towards Tower “Snezhanka“ will work free of charge from 11:00 a.m to 11:30 a.m. The downhill is scheduled for 11:40 a.m. starting at the ski slope № 6. Pamporovo

Exactly at 12:00 o’clock there will sound the Bulgarian hymn and all the participants and public will dance the typical Bulgarian dance – horo up to the sound of bagpipes. If this year’s event gathers enough people, the organizers promise next year to apply to Guinness World Records for the most popular skiing with flags. In 2018 on 3rd of March will be marked 140 years since the signing of the San Stefano peace treaty.
