Adventure games, music, and delicacies for the celebration of the at the Elena pork ham fest

Elena pork ham fest brings every year visitors to taste the local meat special delicacy, to listen to Bulgarian folklore music, and to touch to the tradition on touch the traditions of the Balkan people, and buy souvenirs and delicacies. At the 27th of October at 06.30 p.m. you can enjoy the folklore concert of “Balkanika” dance ensemble Veliko Tarnovo.However, the culmination of the feast is on Saturday. It starts at 10.30 a.m. in the central square “Hristo Botev” in the town with an address from the mayor of Elena. Then starts the music program. On Saturday, you can hear the performances of the folklore singer Yordan Markov and Vivo Montana Orchestra and see typical Croatian dances performed by Lyngo, Dubrovnik.

This year’s festival organizers have also prepared an adventure game in which teams from 2 to 5 people can join, with at least one of them being above the age of 18. In the “On the trail of the lost pork ham,” the participants will have to answer questions and solve mysteries, and they should be familiar with the touristic sights and the history of Elena, without having to be specialists. The game starts at 1.30 p.m. and teams must finish around 4 p.m. Winners’ prizes will be awarded shortly after the end of the game.

A different folklore program begins with the local dance formations Balkandjiyche, Elenika and Samodivi. Later follows the concert of the folk singer Rositsa Peycheva and Ethno Rhythm dance formation. On the second stage of the Elena City Market, you can watch the local tradition of making the ham at 10 a.m. There will also be the bazaar where you can taste the region’s typical dishes or steal the craft of the culinary master chef Andre Tokev.

The evening will end with festive fireworks at Elena’s central square. On Sunday, October 29 in the courtyard of the municipal center at 12 o’clock, creative workshops and entertaining competitions begin. The children will be able to laugh at the performance “Hitar Peter” of the puppet theater “Jolly” from Veliko Tarnovo. The beginning is at 2 p.m. In the afternoon you can try sweet temptations. And in the city market from 10 a.m. you can find “What’s left of the pig” and taste specialties from the local cuisine.
