On May 14 at 6 p.m. in the Open-air Gallery at the Municipal Garden in front of the National Theater in Sofia will be opened the exhibition “About the Letters – Cyrillic in the Modern Bulgarian Art”. The Foundation of Values of the former First Lady Antonina Stoyanova with Partners Sofia Municipality, Plovdiv Municipality, Plovdiv European Capital of Culture 2019 and City Art Gallery – Plovdiv, presents the attractive exposition combining the celebration of the alphabet with the next proof of the high level of modern Bulgarian painting.
Thirty Plovdiv artists, including Stanimir Videev, Kolyo Karamfilov, Nikolay Kuchkov, Nedko Itinov, Valchan Petrov, George Trak and Vasko Stoev, are represented on a single canvas depicting a letter from the Bulgarian alphabet. Which one of them what letter to draw was determined by lot and only one of the artists the first letter of the name coincides with the one that he drew – with the one who has fallen to make it – the lucky man is Emilia Arabadzhieva.
The exhibition, which can be seen in the Municipal Garden in front of the National Theater from May 14th to 28th, will be opened with performances by the Bulgarian National Bagpipers Association.
