Wrestling show, laser show, and concerts are just part of a rich program for the holiday of Sozopol, which will take place from July 16th to July 18th. The day when the sea town has a feast is not chosen by accident. July 17th is the day of Santa Marina, the patron saint of Sozopol.
The celebrations will begin at 10 a.m. on July 16th, when the flags ofBulgaria, EU and Sozopol municipality will be lifted at Apolonia amphitheater. Then there will be wreaths for those who have died for the freedom of our country. An exhibition of medieval weapons will be opened at the Ethnographic Museum at 6 p.m. At the same place will be held a folk spectacle.
The festive program on the first day will end with a concert of the ensemble for folk songs and dances Sliven. July 17th will begin with a festive liturgy, which will be served at 8 a.m. at the Apolonia amphitheater. At 08.30 a.m. the swimming marathon begins at the fishing port. The participants will have to swim the distance to the central beach in Sozopol.
Folk celebrations will start at 10 a.m. in Sveta Marina area. There Zhechka Slaninkova will have a folklore concert. During the day in the bay of Sozopol, representatives of sea clubs will make demonstrations with yachts and jets.
From 4 p.m. at Arena Sozopol start the attractive traditional folk struggles. At 20 o’clock, the festive spectacle dedicated to St. Marina at the Apolonia Amphitheater will begin. In it will be included the ensemble Bulgarian and Polly Genova. A laser show is also planned, and the evening will end with festive fireworks. The next day at 8 p.m the beauty contest Miss Sozopol will be held, followed by a concert by Raffi.
