In 2017 in Nessebar Municipality a lot of interesting festivals and events will take place. To be able to plan early on which ones you will visit, we are suggest you take a look at the cultural calendar of the municipality. On January 7 you can attend the ritual bathing of sons in law in Kosharitsa village. On the holiday the men who married during the last year bathe in the river with the help of two bachelors. It is believed this custom brings health and success to the young people and their families.
A week later, on 14th January, in Kosharitsa village, you can become part of the regional celebration of the homemade sausage. There you can taste and buy a variety of sausages and see who will win the competition for the best sausage. On 14th February in the village of Gelyovitsa a regional festival of the young wine is going to be held. And as wine and love go hand in hand around Valentine’s Day, on 14th February in Nessebar is held the festival of the wedding tourism “Love and wine in Nessebar.”
Between 26th and May 28th in St. Vlas you can go ahead dancing during the folk festival “Da tropnem na more”. From 2nd to 4th June in the Amphitheatre of Nessebar the fans of folk rhythms can visit the international festival “Nessebar ornament”. The festivals in Nessebar continue with one being dedicated to the children. From 15th to 20th June the town hosts the International Children’s Festival “Sun, joy, beauty.”
From 2nd to 7th July the international festival “Nessebar island of Arts” is held. On 7th July in the village of Orizare traditionally the “Feast of Bread” takes place. IN order to try a masterly made bread there, you will learn many secrets in terms of making bread and will hopefully enjoy the folk music that is played. From 8th to 11th July in Nessebar the international gymnastic-dance festival “Nessebar 2017” is going to be held.
Music, choreography, art, and custom creative forms are the highlights in the competition program of the International Art Festival “Constellations in Nessebar” from 20th to 24th August. A day later will start the national pop-rock festival, which runs until 28th August. The music will also be respected at the national festival of the old urban song “Ah, love, love ..!” on 26th August in Obzor.
From 30th August – 1st September in Nessebar an international festival for people with disabilities “Nessebar without borders” will be held. On square Mesambria in the coastal city from 20th August – 3 rd September you will be able to try and buy a nice home, honey and bee products during the Festival dedicated to honey. In September, the fans of classical music will have the opportunity to take a quick trip to Nessebar for the international festival of chamber classical music “Mesambria Orphica.”
Amateur photographers can compete in the international contest “I love the Black Sea” and participate in the competition with original photos. The winners will be announced on 31st October – the International Day of the Black Sea. Between 28th October and 1st November in the city will be held the fish festival “Autumn passages.”
