For the 8th time, the residents and the guests of Bansko will enjoy free opera and ballet performances during Bansko Opera 2017. This year’s festival will be held from 24th to 26th August. The beginning of all performances is at 08.30 p.m. on the central square Nikola Vaptsarov in the city.
The festival opens with Tchaikovsky’s ballet Sleeping Beauty of the State Opera in Rousse. In the fairy tale with a storyline under the pen of Charles Pero will take part Vesela Vassileva, Pavel Kirchev, Galina Hristova. On 25th of August, the audience will be able to enjoy Giacomo Puccini’s opera Gianni Schicchi.
The soloists of the Rousse Opera Dobromir Momekov, Maria Tsvetkova, Andrea Nikolova, Dilyan Bliznakov, Alexander Baranov, Momchil Milanov, Stoyan Stoyanov, Teodor Petkov, Evgeni Ganev, Petya Tsoneva under the direction of Naiden Todorov, will bring the audience into the comic plot based on a story by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.
At the last festival evening, on August 26th, the lovers of classical art will be able to watch the legendary Musical Cats presented by the Varna Opera House. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical is the most well-known Broadway musical of all time. The director of the production is Svetozar Donev, and soloists – Valentina Koutzarova, Milen Bozhkov, Nikolay Dobrev, Linkka Stoyanova, Daniela Dyakova, Irina Zhekova.
