Until February 15th you have the chance to explore the ice figures in the center of Rousse. They were sculpted by world famous artists during the festival Ice Fest 2016. This year beneath their hands came to life characters from the famous animation “Frozen”. You can enjoy the ice figures of Elsa and Anna and other motives from the film in a closed tent. The exhibition is held as usual on the square next to the hotel “Dunav Plaza”.
The room in which you can explore the characters of “Frozen” has an area of 144 sq. meters. The figures are made from artists from eight countries – Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, France, Hungary, Ukraine and Russia. They are made from ice blocks with a total weight of 200 tons. While viewing the works of the art you can stop by the ice bar where and have a drink in special glasses also made of ice.
This year is held the third contemporary festival Ice Fest in Rousse. The tradition of making ice masterpieces however, dates back to the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. Every year in the winter the master confectioner Dencho Nozharov made different ice figures as a hobby in front of his sweet shop “Switzerland”.
