There is one special and unique celebration of freedom in Bulgaria and its called July morning. Every 30th of June a lot of people gather around fires near the Black sea coast and wait for the first sun rays of 1st of July. The holiday is believed to be an echo from the hippie era. It first took place sometime in the 1980s when on July 1 a group of young Bulgarian enthusiasts decided to organise a symbolic protest against the Communist regime in Varna. They wait together for the sun to come out of the sea. July morning is inspired from the emblematic rock ballad with the same name by Uriah Heep. On many locations, there are concerts with professional and amateur bands. This year won’t be different. John Lawton from Uriah Heep will sing for the audiеnce in the Danube town of Tutrakan together with the Bulgarian band BTR. The Bulgarian bands Control and Wickeda will celebrate with the audience in Burgas. On Kamen bryag, one of the most common places to celebrate July morning, this year will sing the band Jeremy. You can have also a wild beach party with famous DJs in Albena. If you prefer to see the first sun rays over a mountain you can go to Beklemeto and have fun with Funky, his group Cherno Feredzhe and other Bulgarian stars. Booking Bulgarian beach hotels
