This year in Kyustendil again will be held the famous cherry festival. The start will be on June 24th. The exhibition – a cherry bazaar and works of sweet fruit – will be opened from 10 a.m. In the garden in front of the Kyustendil municipality, you will be able to see and buy handmade artworks and the youngest will be able to learn the craft.

The official opening of the feast is at 11 a.m., followed by a presentation of cherry varieties and a contest for the largest cherry, the most attractive knitted cherry string, and the most beautiful stand. The winners of the competitions will also be announced at 3 p.m. on Velbjahid Square. The day will end with a gala concert at 7 p.m. of rock band BTR.

On the second day of the festival you can again visit the cherry bazaar, and at 12 o’clock a culinary race with cherries as the main product will be held. The jury will be the famous Bulgarian chef Ivan Zvezdev. From 01:30 p.m. begins a folklore festival. The best masters in the kitchen will be announced at 3 p.m. If you decide to take part in the festival, do not miss the cherry to take advantage of the healing qualities of the mineral water in Kyustendil.
