Latin music is in the focus of Jazz Fest Plovdiv 2016

Latin music is in the focus of Jazz Fest Plovdiv 2016. The fans of the rhythms of freedom can enjoy a great performances during the five days of the festival – from 1st to November 5th in the city under the hills. The concert program will open four ladies from the Bulgarian scene that needs no introduction. After they blew the audience last year with their performances Hilda Kazasyan, Beloslava Miroslava Katsarova and Andronia Popova-Ronnie will sing this year bossa nova.

On November 2nd the fans of jazz can enjoy the new album of  Zuco 103 – “Etno Chic”. In their concert set you will feel funk and Brazilian elements. The third day of the festival in Plovdiv offers a journey among the most popular topics of the great composer and trumpeter Kenny Wheeler. In the project of the trombonist George Kornazov guest is the Belgian jazz singer David Linx. On the piano you can hear Armel Dupas,  on the bass – Frederic Scifolio and Christophe Margue on the drums. David Lynx will give also a master class for young artists.

The second concert of the third night of the festival will be from Kamelia Todorova, who will delight the audience with a program for voice and piano with Angel Zaberski-son. The chance to immerse yourself in the performances of the African Sting – Richard Bona you will have on November 4th. The inspiration drawn from Cuba and West Africa will be poured as notes and brilliant vocals for the audience in Plovdiv.

Mike Stern and Dave Weckl will close “Plovdiv Jazz Fest” with their new joint project. For the first time during the festival will be organized competition for young talents. Participation in it can take artists up to the age of 27 years. Demos will be accepted until October 21st. The winners will be presented with a concert in front of the festival audience on November 3rd.

The prize for the winner of the race is 500 lev /approximately 250 euro/ plus pass for all performances of шге Jazz Fest Plovdiv 2016. The second and third will receive 300 and 100 lev /approximately 150 euro and 50 euro/, plus access to the concerts. The fare for the entire festival is 130 lev/approximately 65 euro/. There is a discount  for people with disabilities and they pay 100 lev for the omission/approximately 50 euro/. The admission for each concert is 30 lev /approximately 15 euro/.
