Lavender Fest will be held for a 3rd time in the Bulgarian town of Chirpan. The event starts on 22nd of July. For a first time in the fest’s history would be chosen a “The Queen of Lavender”. There are at least eight pretenders for the crown, from the age of 6 to 86 years old.
In 2016 the Lavender Fest will be held in three days. On the first day of the fest will open a children’s lavender workshop. In the evening in the amphitheater of the “Yavorov” museum begins the traditional jazz festival. If you are in love with the vintage cars you should go also to Mogilovo village where in Midalidare winery will take place an exhibition of retro automobiles. You can also enjoy a rich folklore program.
During the second day of the festival will be the shown a film that tells the story of lavender in Bulgaria. You can buy also a different lavender products from the bazaar in Sredno gradishte village.
Since 2012 Bulgaria is the world leader in lavender growing and oil production after managing to steal the first place from France.
