The Ministry of Tourism will seek the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is ready to allocate even more resources to facilitate the visa regime of Bulgaria with third countries in view of the importance of the touristic markets. This was assured by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova, the General Manager of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD Frank Quante in an online conversation.
Nikolova congratulated Quante of the accreditation “Healthy Airport”, which was received by the airports of Varna and Bourgas by the ACI association. I believe that ensuring the public image of our country as a safe destination is in our common interest, said the Deputy Prime Minister. She added that the Ministry of Tourism is in constant coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Health in view of the imposed measures, policies and safety standards.
Regarding one of the most important issues concerning “green passports”, the Deputy Prime Minister clarified that within the European Commission Bulgaria has supported the legislative proposal to create a digital green certificate to facilitate the safe free movement of citizens within the EU. According to her, in this way mobility will be restored and the tourist ecosystem will be restored.
Minister Nikolova also acquainted Frank Quante with the conditions for entering the country and the introduced sanitary and hygienic measures in the Bulgarian resorts. She explained that the government, the Ministry of Tourism and the health authorities are making every effort to preserve the safety and health of tourists. We are constantly monitoring the situation and we hope that in the middle of the summer more foreigners will have the opportunity to visit our country, she concluded.
