A new luxury spa complex Belchin Spring opens its doors in the village of Belchin near the famous Tsari Mali Grad tourist attraction and the winter resort Borovets. The outdoor pool and spa are now open, offering a variety of facials and massages. In addition to enjoying the traditional herbal saunas, salt room, relaxation area, ice corner, steam room and bamboo room, lovers can also indulge in an individual jacuzzi.
The entrance to the outdoor mineral pool is BGN 40 per day per person (1 Euro is approximately 2 BGN). You are guaranteed peace of mind as the sunbeds and umbrellas are located enough far from each other. If you pay BGN 70 per day, you can use all the extras of the indoor spa area without the beauty treatments, which are extra charged.
Up to 10 eco houses are expected to be opened within a week. You can rent a studio or the whole house. They are made entirely of eco-friendly materials. Part of the villas are built with hemp bricks, imported from Italy, which are antibacterial, and resting in the houses energizes the body. The rest of the villas are also eco, but built with clay.
The price for one night for two people during the week is 249 BGN. The amount includes breakfast, as well as the use of swimming pools and the spa center. Over the weekend, the cost of lodging in the cottages is a bit higher – BGN 279 for two. A spa hotel will also open on December 20th, with room for rent at slightly lower prices. The investment in Belchinski Izvor is BGN 18 million, of which BGN 12 million is from a bank loan. It is made by Glavbolgarstroy and is expected to be returned in 8-10 years.
The mineral water in the complex is from a well in which the company invested BGN 2.5 million. Its flow rate is 6.5 liters per second, as part of it supplies an external fountain for the complex for guests and residents of the area. The drilling concession costs BGN 100 000 per year and the contract is for 30 years. The water in the complex circulates constantly and changes in the pools. The mineral water itself treats diseases of the musculoskeletal system, female genital organs, mild skin diseases and those of the peripheral nervous system.
According to the legend the use of the healing mineral water in the ancient times was founded by the daughter of the Roman emperor Theodosius I – Gala Placidia. It is near Belchin that one of the five coins in the world with her image was discovered. Gala Placidia is also depicted in a mosaic in the indoor pool of the complex.
