Ognyanovo celebrates with folk music and wrestling

The well-known with its mineral water village of Ognyanovo will celebrate on 14th and 15th of August the feast of the spa resort. The celebrations will begin on August 14 at 06.30 p.m. at the stadium in the village of Ognyanovo. In front of the audience with Bulgarian folk music, a favorite of the Pirin region will present themselves the group Mladost from the village of Debren, amateurs from the village of Dolno Dryanovo, a female singing group from the village of Scratlatino, as well as the dance formation of the village of Ognyanovo.

At 8 p.m. starts the performances of the folk music orchestra „Pirinski rhythms“. At 09.20 p.m. the musical performances will be briefly interrupted with the greetings of the Mayor of Ognyanovo village Dimitria Gherova and the mayor of Garmen Municipality Minka Kapitanova. At 09.30 p.m. is the beginning of the concert of the folk singer Ivan Dyakov and his daughter Ivana Dyakova.

The sky above Ognyanovo will be lit by festive fireworks at 10.50 p.m. After the fireworks, the audience will party with the pop-folk singer Ani Hoang. The celebrations will continue on August 15th. From 8 a.m. a solemn liturgy will take place in the temple “Assumption of the Virgin Mary” in Ognyanovo. At 5 p.m. everyone can be a spectator of the popular wrestling battles that will take place at the stadium in the village.

According to reports, the water in Ognyanovo heals over 100 kinds of diseases. The mineral spring in Ognyanovo, known as Miroto, has a temperature between 39 and 43 degrees Celsius and has been exploited since antiquity. The physicochemical composition of water is particularly suitable for the treatment of diseases of the locomotory system, endocrine, respiratory and digestive systems, metabolism, nervous, gynecological and cardiovascular diseases. According to legends and scientific evidence, the water in it was blessed personally by the Apostle Paul.
