For the second consecutive year, the opening of the rafting season near Simitli will be combined with the Balkan Rafting Festival. The event will take place on March 24th and March 25th, and participants will be able to descend a 12km long course on the Struma River. For the first enthusiasts of the season are provided discounts of 20% of the regular price of 50 leva /approximately 25 Euro/ per person.

The official start of the rafting season will be given from 10 am on March 24th. Then everyone who wants to experience the route will be equipped and instructed, as previous experience is not required. It is good to have bathing suits and clothes that will not weigh you and prevent you from getting wet because you will certainly not leave the boats dry.

Between 12 and 2 p.m. on the river, both lovers and representatives of all sports clubs will join the festival. Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., the professionals will discuss topics from the sector and at 8 p.m. everyone will be able to have fun and dance with Balkan music. Naturally, the central part of the party will take the sound of the Bulgarian bagpipes. On the 25th, everyone can board a boat in the fast water of the river from 11 am to 2 pm.
