Fans of opera still have the unique opportunity to enjoy the performances of artists from Sofia Music Opera among the Belogradchik Rocks. On 7th of August in Belogradchik fortress will sound the opera from Giacomo Puccini “Turnadot.” In Sunday, August 8th in the unique natural scenery you can enjoy the ballet “Swan Lake” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Both performances are starting at 20:00 p.m. Over the weekend at 11:00 a.m. you can enjoy an amazing experience – to visit the Magura cave, where would be held an incredible performance “Wagner Magura gods, giants, dwarves and valkyries.”
The Belogradchik fortress was built during the Roman Empire and is naturally inscribed in the unique rock formations known as the Belogradchik Rocks. Their fantastic colors and shapes are the cause of many legends. The imagination of tourists formed a variety of human and animal figures.
The Belogradchik Rocks are included in the list of the global landmarks since 1949 and are among the so called “Hundred national tourist sites” of Bulgaria, which includes the most important attractions of the country. Years ago, the rock formations became known worldwide after being extremely close be declared one of the 7 new wonders of the world.
