A rich program was prepared by the municipality of Varna for the feast of the city – August 15 or the day of the Holy Mother of God according to the Orthodox calendar. The celebrations will start as early as 9 a.m. when the cathedral “St. Assumption” will be served as a solemn liturgy. The flag of Varna will be solemnly erected at 10.30 a.m. at the square “St. Cyril and Methodius”. Immediately afterward, the Lithuanian procession will start with the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary.
From 10.30 a.m. on the stage, “Rakovina” begin children’s spectacles. At the same place, but at 5:30 p.m. a concert will be delivered by the Dyanio Marinov bagpipe orchestra. On the scene will appear also the singer Bogdan Tomov. From 7 p.m. in the Roman Baths begins the concert of “Anima”. At 8 p.m., honorary titles will be awarded in the summer theater and the awards will begin. Then Orlin Pavlov and his old band “Kaffe” along with Beloslava and Grafa will appear on stage.
From 07.30 p.m. in the free zone of Varna Port starts a dance flash mob. The culmination of the program is from 08.30 p.m. when the big holiday concert begins featuring Jeremy ?, Victoria Georgieva, Atanas Kolev, Divna, Dara, Tita, Damian Popov and Mia, Mihaela Fileva and VenZy, Orlin Pavlov, Count, Paul and Ventsi Vents, 100 kilos and DJ Sagi Abitbul from Israel.
At 9 p.m. on Nezavisimost Square, another concert begins – Sinatra Symphonies. The stars in it will be Vassil Petrov and the symphony orchestra of the State Opera – Varna with conductor Martin Panteleev. Sports enthusiasts can get involved in the night-time run “The Way of Light”. The start is at 10 p.m. at the Sea Garden in Varna. The day will end at 11.30 p.m. with festive fireworks.
