From 24th to April 26th in Plovdiv will be held for the 17th consecutive year the competition “Orpheus talents”. In it participate, children, young and experienced performers of Bulgarian folklore. Because of the great interest in this year, the contestants will compete for not on one but on three scenes – in the Military Club, in the Concert dice and in the Academy of Music, Dance, and Fine Arts.
20-member jury will evaluate the performers in the three days from 09:00 a.m. to 08:00 p.m. At the end of the evening will be held concerts of the winners of “Orpheus talent.” During the competition will be able to compete vocal and instrumental groups, dance groups, performers of folk instruments and folk singers. The competitors are divided into 6 age groups. The youngest competitors are up to seven years, followed by those from 1st to 4th grade, 5th to 7th grade, 8th to 12th grade, from 19 to 25 years and those over 25 years.
The competition has a number of prizes and certificates for all participants. Furthermore, it is awarded the Grand Prix prize and the mayor, gold, silver or bronze lyre of Orpheus for the first three places in individual participants and relevant statuettes for the groups. There is also an award for authentic and not played yet folk songs, the prize of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, awards from partners, sponsors, and donors. There is also an award of “Orpheus talent” for the youngest and the eldest participant and also a prize for the most beautiful authentic folk costume.
