The free beach, with which Burgas became famous last summer remains in history. Over the next five years, the tourists will pay 5 leva or approximately 2,5 euro for umbrella and 7 leva or approximately 3,5 euro for a sunbed every day. This became clear after a Ministry of Tourism tender for the rental of the beach. Last year the municipality of Burgas parked on the beach near the bridge in the Sea Garden 300 umbrellas and 200 sunbeds for which no fee is collected.
Furthermore, to guarantee a relaxing holiday for its guests the municipality had provided rescue and medical personnel and free clean toilets and showers. The beach was made accessible for people with disabilities. And for those who love sport, there were two pitches for volleyball, two beach soccer fields, and tennis court.
The new company, which will manage the beach was the only one participating in the rental competition after two of its competitors were removed. The company will pay 324 000 leva or approximately 162 000 euro each year to manage the beach and to offer paid services on it.
