If you are a wine lover, be sure to visit Asenovgrad on January 31st. Then, in the town known for its exceptional mavrud and other grapefruit drinks from the fountain in front of the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation (also known as the Fish Church) will flow a red wine that everyone can try. The celebration is for the day of the wine – Trifonovden.
The winners of the 5th National Poetry Competition “Naughty for Love” will be awarded on January 29 at 05.30 p.m. at the Town Library. On January 30th, the participants in the contest for the most delicious staircase sherds should present their culinary creations for tasting. Everyone can participate in the competition, but will win the master of the smallest, most delicious and best aesthetically served sherds. It is a condition to have used half a pound of minced meat for cooking. Participants will compete in two categories – cabbage and grape.
The winners will be awarded the next day together with the masters of the best homemade wine made in 2017. The summons are cash and the biggest one is 50 leva /approximately 25 Euro/. On the 31st is also a festive procession of the finalists in the competitions. At 1 p.m., the wine festival will start with the participation of the actor Nencho Balabanov, the Colorit Orchestra and the dance ensemble “Ethnorthum”.
Everyone will be able to taste Vinnidov’s Stani-Vin wines, Diado Plamen wine cellar and taste specialties from Asenovgrad and the villages. Guests of the celebration will be master chefs from the brothers of Asenovgrad Serbian Dimitrovgrad. On February 1st, the guests of the city will be able to trace the traditional fudge struggles that are held on the occasion of the day of the wineries and wineries Trifonovden in the area of Saint Trifon.
