On May 27, the Queen Rosa will officially be crowned in Karlovo. Thus, according to tradition, the most beautiful girl of the city is chosen to represent the town for the year and plays a special role in the celebration of the rose. This year the holiday will begin at 9 a.m. in the rose gardens of Karlovo.
They are located at the exit of the town, on the way to the village of Sokolitsa and Plovdiv. Among the beautiful and fragrant oil-bearing roses will officially receive her crown Hristina Karakoleva from last year’s winner Marina Svilenova. From 10:15 a.m. in Karlovo will start the festive program with the procession of the Rose Queen on General Gurko Street.
On the 20th July Square in the center of the city will officially be given to the new Queen the symbol of Karlovo and the Rose Valley – the Golden Rose. The festive program will include Chinari Ensemble, Folk Dance Ensemble “Rose Valley” and representatives of the National School of Dance Art.
A demonstration of rosary can be seen at the History Museum of Karlovo from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. While you are there, besides loading with a fragrant aroma that separates itself from the processing of rose leaves, you can also see the museum’s collection. At the 20th July Square at 8 p.m. will begin a festive program with the participation of the rock groups “Renegade”, “Competitor” and “Horizon”.
