The new Miss and Mister Salt Mud will wear the prize during a fun contest to be held at the lye and mud pools near Atanasovsko Lake, Burgas area. The competition will begin at 07.30 pm on the 10th of August and is part of the Salt Festival. From 4 pm when is the start of the event, you can get involved in a variety of initiatives, and in the evenings the audience will have a chance to listen to a concert, whose performers are kept in secret until its beginning.
If you are walking, by bike, by bus, by car or even by kitesurfing to the festival area, you can take a look at the exhibition telling the history of the fair. Children can get involved in educational games, and anyone can learn more about what is known as „ the white gold“ in ancient times from special video screenings.
You will be able to take retro photographs, buy salt and products made from it, jewellery, souvenirs, food and drinks. You can also win a prize game with questions about the Atanasovsko Lake. Or just relax in one of the hammocks in the special relax zone.
Every 20 minutes a Salt train will travel from Haleto to the Salt Pools with mud and vice versa. The party will also include mud bathing. If you are more adventurous, you can become a salt worker for a day and produce your first salt yourself.
You will have the chance to take a look at Siana Georgieva’s “Orange and Blue” exhibition or create your own painting by joining the painting studio with watercolour and salt. The organizers have also provided a competition for old and new saltеrs, as well as a workshop for making wire and paper figures. At 05.30 pm is the beginning of the sports triathlon, and after that, you can try sea salt chocolate from the Atanasovsko Lake.
During the one-day festival, you can also make salt soaps, hear a lecture on health, look at the philosophy of yoga. Or enjoy the exhibitions „Gulls“ and „Feathery Phenotypes“. At 08.30 ballet dance will be present. Then you will also be able to learn which music star is going to be at the festival. At 10 pm the big holiday cake on the occasion of the birthday of the lake will be cut.
