Nearly 40 awards were given by the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association in a stylish ceremony. The annual prizes were awarded to the Excellent in different categories. Among the municipalities, the first places took Sandanski as the most prosperous municipality in spa tourism for 2017, Rousse for best marketing positioning and new attractions and Devin for the most successful tourist destination.

Varna Municipality took two awards. For the most sustainable policy for building tourist infrastructure in the region and for the most attracted tourists through a musical event, after more than 30 000 people attended the MTV Presents Varna Beach. The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo received a prize for sustainable development in the cultural and historical tourism, the Municipality of Plovdiv for the most beneficial cooperation in tourism with the municipality, Sofia Municipality – for the most sustainable development as a tourist destination, and the Kazanlak Municipality for the most investments in tourist infrastructure.

The honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association Blagoi Ragin received a prize for a complete contribution and special services for the development of tourism. We hope that the government will also recognize his 25-year efforts to develop the sector and also award it, announced Veselin Nalbantov of BHRA. The Grand Hotel Bansko was the best event hotel.

The best spa hotel was chosen as the Hot Springs Medical & Spa Hotel, the village of Banya. The best five-star spa hotel was Arte Spa and Park Hotel, Velingrad. Number one among the 5-star mountain hotels for 2017 is Lucky Bansko Spa & Relax Aparthotel. The winners of the different categories were the Sveti Vlas Hotel, the Aqua Thermal and Beach Thermal Complex, the Marina Residence Hotel, the Best Boutique Hotel, the Hotel Chateau de Berges.

Among the restaurants, honors were recaptured by Salt and Pepper Restaurant, Toro Grande Restaurant, Mr. Baba Restaurant, Hemingway Restaurant, Note di Wine Restaurant, Happy Restaurant, Ummay Restaurant, Sasa, Dolce Fellini Cafes. The prize was awarded to Musicauthor, National Association of Municipalities, Prophon, Mineral Water Company Gorna Banya, Coca Cola, Zagorka, Perelis Trading and Blutex 99.

Yasen Shterev was chosen as the best complex manager of a casino hotel. For the best designer work in the field of tourism was awarded Tsonka Bachvarova. The prize was awarded to the Fund for stimulating flights to Burgas airport. The guests of the ceremony had the chance to see some performances of the ensemble “Bulgare”. The host of the event was the Balkan Hotel in Sofia.
