The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova recommended the mountains for travel and winter sports during the upcoming school holidays. She was on a working visit to Bansko and together with the mayor of the town Ivan Kadev discussed the possibilities for continuing the winter season in the conditions of the introduced temporary anti-epidemic measures.

Currently, the conditions in the mountains are extremely suitable for skiing due to the heavy snowfall. They offer very good opportunities for strengthening health, in conditions guaranteeing safety and security, Nikolova stressed. She urged parents to bring their children to the mountains without worries and without risk to their health.

According to Ivan Obreykov from Yulen, due to the snow that has fallen in recent days, the winter season may last until mid-April. And at the moment the weather conditions are extremely suitable for practicing winter sports. During this winter season, Bulgarian tourists are the main visitors to Bansko, said the Mayor of the town Ivan Kadev.

Minister Nikolova stressed that Bulgarians can visit the resorts without any doubt about their health, because so far there is not a single registered case of Covid-19 infection in any winter touristic destination. “Snow sports are very important for people’s health. I am happy to see how many children, skiers and snowboarders there are and this makes us happy, because Bulgarians once again support domestic tourism, ” said Nikolova.
