This winter you can ski and snowboard in the new mega ski resort Pamporovo- Mechi Chal in Bulgaria. The tourists will enjoy the slopes in both ski areas with one ski pass. For the moment, the connection will be done by bus. The skiers will not pay a ticket for the connection and will have to simply show their ski passes. So that transport will not cost extra.
The distance between the two ski zones is only 9 kilometers. In the next two years the new mega resort will be connected with two new lifts and two new ski slopes. In this season in the zone of Mechi Chal near Chepelare will start working a new system for artificial snow, so that the pleasure of the descent does not depend on weather conditions.
In ski area Mechi Chal is the longest ski slopein Bulgaria with a length of 5200 km and a width of 25 meters. It is certified and it can hold competitions in alpine skiing for the world ranking. The other track in the area has a length of 3200 m. and a width of 50 meters. The resort has also a 3 km track for ski running.
The total length of ski slopes in Pamporovo is 37 km, and together with the ski runs its 65 km. The tracks are of varying degrees of difficulty . There are slopes both for beginners and professionals. The resort is favored in the recent years by both Bulgarian tourists and guests from the Balkans – Turkey, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Macedonia. Among the plans for the development of mega resort is turning it in a spa destination with a new water supply pipeline with hot mineral water.
