The first smart bench, which charges smartphones and provides information on air cleanliness, will be installed in Varna. The solar-powered parked furniture will also allow access to the internet and will have “clever” lighting with sensors.
It will be installed in the Children’s Corner of the Sea Garden in Varna. Such smart benches already exist in other cities around the world, such as the British capital London and Croatian Zagreb, although the works have been produced by various enthusiasts. The bench in Varna is the work of three young people from the non-governmental organization N Spot. The project is implemented with the assistance of the Municipality of Varna and the Mayday Foundation.
