The Bulgarian capital Sofia took first place in the ranking of the cheapest destinations in the world, writes Business Insider. The competition included 84 locations around the world. The ranking is done according to how much is the average cost per person per day. This includes the cost of accommodation in a double room, a bottle of wine, food, a coffee, a cocktail, and the taxi drive up to three kilometers.
Considering all these indicators, it appears that Sofia is the cheapest tourist destination in the world. Double room in a hotel costs an average of $ 46, and dinner for two with drinks included – 22 dollars. The average price of a bottle of wine in the capital is $ 6, and a cup of coffee costs 1.93 dollars. The cocktail is around 4.72 dollars, a beer – 1.33 dollars and three kilometers by taxi will cost you about 2.5 dollars.
Second in the ranking of the cheapest tourist destinations is the Egyptian capital Cairo. The third place is for Cartagena in Colombia. The top 10 also includes Bucharest /Romania/, Antalya /Turkey/, Siem Rip /Cambodia/, Kiev /Ukraine/, Manila /Philippines/, Mexico City /Mexico/ and Sliema /Malta/.
