Undoubtedly the most expected event for music lovers in Bansko is the latest edition of the International Jazz Festival. In the middle of the summer in the mountain resort for the 19th consecutive time you can meet the jazz stars of Bulgaria and the world. Although the official start of the festival will be given on 6th of August, organizers will tempt you with two pre- concerts. Unlike all the other concerts during the event , these two are not with free entrance but with tickets. On August 4th in community culture centre “Nikola Vaptsarov” you can enjoy a piano concert from prof. Yovcho Krushev . On August 5th in the hall of the Grand Hotel Bansko you can hear in advance the opener concert of the festival. For you will sing the diva Yordanka Hristova together with Big Band Blagoevgrad and soloists, conductor Boris Yanev.

Yordanka Hristova and the Blagoevgrad Band will be the first that will make the festival audience to dance. On the first day you can enjoy also the performances of Susanna Sawoff from Austria and The Golden Buddha Jazz Band from China. On Sunday the party continues with Pankastic ! from Hungary , Rehan Syed Band from Germany and Vasil Petrov and Stanislav Arabadjiev triofrom Bulgaria .

The week of August 8th will start with the concert ” the Musical in Jazz ” by students from the Department of the jazz-pop department of the State Academy of Music of Bulgaria. Performances will continue with  Gotse Stevkovski septet of Macedonia and the Bulgarian Dixieband Teteven.

On the evening of August 9th you can hear Naissblue from Serbia. The program continues with 3-oto from Bulgaria and Michal Wroblewski trio from Poland. The festival night ends with Maggie Alexsieva “MEY” of Bulgaria & Bertha trio of France. On August 10th will enjoy the performance of Rumen Alexandrov Ragtime Band of Bulgaria, the Americans Cyrus Chestnut , Buster Williams and Lenny White and Sylvia and Bend /Bulgaria and Portugal/.

The performances continue on August 11th with Breakpoint from Bulgaria, Axel Zwingenberger Germany & Keito Saito from Japan. The day ends with the inspiring Shakatak from the UK. On 12 of August you will meet Christina Kirova Sextet from Bulgaria , Tal Gamlieli Trio from Israel and Alfina Scorza of Italy.

On the last day of the festival on 13th of  August you can enjoy Petya Stancheva quintet from Bulgaria, Ralyzzdig’s Band from Japan and Joss Stone & Band from the UK.
