The ski slope Stenata in the Vitosha mountain near Sofia is reopened for winter sports fans after not working for 10 years. The conditions it offers are excellent and I urge more people to visit it. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova, who visited the reopened slope. She stressed that snow sports help to promote health and can be practiced safely, even in the context of the spread of the coronavirus.

The Minister also pointed out that the mountain is a great choice for visiting and entertainment in leisure time, and the proximity of Vitosha to Sofia facilitates the access of both citizens and guests of the city. I urge more people to choose the place for walking and sports on weekends, because this is one of the few safe places for health, added the Deputy Prime Minister.

A vacation for the students is coming up and a walk in the mountains is a wonderful opportunity to spend free time, Nikolova commented. She appeals to all those who practice winter sports to use only the marked trails in order to avoid accidents in the mountains.

In recent days, we have reported serious interest, said Emil Dimitrov, ski  manager of “Vitosha Ski”. The interest was so great that people who could not use the lift had to return.
