From May 1, there will be new rules for entering Bulgaria, which will be valid for both Bulgarian and foreign citizens. The requirements, which are expected to be approved by the EU within a month, are accepted in advance, explained the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov. There are several options for crossing the borders – a valid vaccination certificate, which will be issued 14 days after the second needle, a negative PCR or antigen test, as well as proof of COVID-19 recovery in the last 6 months. The recovery will have to be certified not by a note from a doctor or hospital, but by an old positive PCR or antigen test, Angelov explained.
Organized tourist trips will remain banned at least until the end of April, and these activities are expected to be allowed in May, the minister added.
