The Vola Open Air festival provides a way and a stage for the performance of young and non-commercial musicians. This year, the event will take place at Mount Okolchica on July 28th and July 29th. Four unprofessional DJs or melodies will become part of the fest’s mobile stage program after winning a contest and their names will become clear on July 27th.
Hardliners at the festival this year are the SpectraSoul! the duo from Grear Briton – representatives of the contemporary drum & bass world music scene. From the UK to Okolchitsa will travel also one of the most promising electronic musicians DJ Swindle. At the Volga Fest, he will present his new album Peace, Love & Music.
Of course, there will be a strong presence of Bulgarian artists. Improvisations in jazz, trip hop, and reggae can be expected from the Clavexpirience trio. It includes the world beatbox champion SkilleR – Alexander Deyanov, Dimitar Gorchakov on the synthesizers and the voice of Pavel Clave. A wide range of genres will present the duet of Angel Dodov and Lyubomir Brashnenkov -Saturated Pixel. A combination of live rhythms breaks, and effects will make the set of DJ Uncle Billy and Julydrummer unforgettable.
Rap classic will show the hop duo Gulch and Gena. Funk, Break, Trip Hop and Drum and Bass can be expected from the musician and DJ Vagabond. The funky garage is the sound of Tekniq, while Onslaught will present the Jamaican influence in music and bass culture. Vasquez Nz, as his pseudonym speaks, lives for many years in New Zelaiades, and the country has also undergone his overall development as an artist. The ticket for the two days of the festival costs 25 leva or approximately 13 euro.
