For the fifth time in Stara Zagora will be held the Festival of wine and cultural heritage Avugstiada. From 14th to October 16th at the Regional historical museum you can explore the exhibits, to taste local wines and typical dishes and to buy souvenirs and replicas of famous treasures that are kept in Stara Zagora.
The visitors will have the opportunity to choose the best wine during the festival. They will give their votes to their favorite grape elixir. The ranked top three wines will gain the right to wear the special logo sign as winners in Avgustiada. Besides Bulgarian wines the visitors of the event will be able to try also drinks from neighboring countries.
For a first time will be selected the most beautiful lady of Stara Zagora, which will receive the title of Queen Avgustiada. The participants in the competition are aged from 18 to 30 years. As part of the race they participate in the grape harvest in the region and in making wine. The girls will parade in front of the festival audience in typical Roman clothing and jewelry.
