The king of young wine will be selected in Sandanski on December 29. At 04.00 p.m.   will be announced the winners of the competition for best young wine. The participants in the competition will be  evaluated by professional enologists. The candidates for the title can still give a 1.5 liters of homemade red wine. They have also to indicate the variety of the grape from which it was made and the area from which it was harvested.

The evaluation of the wines is anonymous. The winners will be awarded with title and certificates at 04.00 p.m. at “Bulgaria” square in Sandanski. For the audience during the feast of the new wine are provided two barrels of wine for free. All will be able to enjoy the festive program with traditional Macedonian rhythms and to try more local wines and specialties in the new Christmas houses in the city center.

In the city you can explore also the unique Episcopal basilica from the 4th century. Or to go to the wine museum in the nearby Melnik where is possible to buy a local wine sealed with your portrait on the label of the bottle.
