New baggage rules introduces the low-cost carrier Wizz Air. From November 1st, the carrier will allow passengers to pick up on board free hand baggage, but smaller than the previous one – 40 to 30 by 20 centimetres. Those who take advantage of a priority ticket will have the opportunity to board the aeroplane and somewhat larger suitcases and backpacks with a size of 55 to 40 by 23 centimetres.
The company also introduced a new amount of checked baggage. If your suitcase, backpack or bag weighs up to 10 pounds, you can leave them in the luggage compartment for 7 euro per luggage. According to the company’s new policy, passengers will now be able to choose among more than 50 different combinations for hand and checked luggage according to their budget and individual preference.
According to carrier representatives, the change is intended to reduce baggage delays. An annual over 10,000 airships do not meet their schedule for that reason. At the same time, during the last 5 years, the average length of stay in destinations has decreased, leading to the need for fewer luggage. According to the company, every third customer of the carrier prefers to check their luggage, and one in seven passengers takes hand luggage with wheels that can be boarded on the plane.
